TheVenueShop helps unemployed put best foot forward - announces #ProjectSuccess fundraising in support of Wear for Success Leading business events & venue-sourcing specialists put their best foot forward to support an initiative assisting the unemployed through training, personalised grooming services & provision of professional attire to help them enter the workforce.

TheVenueShop gathered its clients for Wear for Success via a launch event for their #ProjectSuccess fundraiser on 29 September, held at Crown Towers Melbourne

Event industry professionals, from diverse HR/L&D, EA and Event Manager roles, representing a wide range of corporates such as ANZ, IAG, NAB, Visy and Salmat attended the event - to support the cause whilst also learning how they can be even more efficient in their current roles when fully embracing the extensive services and expertise offered by TheVenueShop.

Lisa Roberts, Managing Director of Ultimate Performance+Recruitment, Conferences+Events and Founder of TheVenueShop, said her team is extremely proud to be partnering with a worthy, Melbourne-based, not for profit that aligns so closely with their own values.

“Our business has always focused on finding solutions, helping others, collaboration and using our connections to the benefit of our clients. For some time now we have been searching for a way to apply these strengths and to extend these values and philosophies into the wider community and are proud to announce our support of Wear for Success.

“The care and attention we provide to our clients and the emphasis we place on relationships is so much more than the typical venue-finder model. This is reflected in our choice to partner with Wear for Success via the delivery of engaging industry events and fundraising activities,” said Ms Roberts.

Jodie Aickin, Operations Manager of Wear for Success is the sole employee of this inspirational organisation - they have been operating for five years without any government funding and rely on a dedicated team of volunteers.  Ms Aickin shared with guests the history and nature of Wear for Success’ services, including a video demonstrating the difference their programs can make "in action" showcasing their work alongside ONTrac participants from PeterMac.  

Ms Aickin expressed their gratitude for the support of everyone present after TheVenueShop not only launched their first major fundraiser on their behalf, but also presented her with a range of new suits from Jigsaw and David Lawrence, plus items generously donated by guests in a clothing drive...

“We are so thrilled to see the turnout and generosity of the event industry in support of our cause. We would like to sincerely thank TheVenueShop for making this happen and look forward to working closely with them on future initiatives,” said Ms Aickin.

A fabulous evening of delicious catering, networking and 5 star service from attentive staff at Melbourne venue The Waiting Room, was wrapped up with an activity highlighting how TheVenueShop bring their collective knowledge and that of it's clients together to benefit all event bookers before a number of prizes were drawn for 4 lucky guests - the main winner receiving a package at an Art Series Hotel of her choice, with Smart Car use, welcome bubbles and late check-out. No one left empty-handed with all taking home a bottle of Pink Moscato from Innocent Bystander and delicious chocolates, courtesy of Say It On Chocolate.
