Amanda from Wesley College was presented with a package including accommodation, flights & even $1,000 spending money to enjoy at QT Sydney.

The inaugural #ProjectSuccess  raffle was launched at an Ultimate Conferences & TheVenueShop event where the team brought together a number of their corporate clients at premium Melbourne venue - The Waiting Room at Crown Towers on 29 September 2015.  

TheVenueShop hosted the fundraiser, organised a clothing drive & presented Wear for Success staff with a donation of newly purchased suits for their employment program - in addition to the raffle prize valued at $2,500 - as part of their commitment to their #ProjectSuccess fundraising goals for the coming year. 

This leading business events consultancy and venue sourcing company, is now calling on the events industry to help them support the unemployed through their ongoing connection with Wear for Success, a not-for-profit organisation designed to provide training, personalised grooming services and professional attire to help those from various disadvantaged groups to enter the workforce.

TheVenueShop aims to make a difference by engaging those within the corporate/events industry, encouraging them to donate some of their professional attire. This could include donating pieces that are no longer worn, but still in great condition, or simply buying an additional item when shopping, to help someone make the right impression when going to that all important face-to-face.

Lisa Roberts, Managing Director of Ultimate Performance+Recruitment, Conferences+Events and founder of TheVenueShop, said: “Working in events means we have so many different scenarios to dress for. Therefore it's highly likely most of us are guilty of having too many clothes that are simply sitting in the bottom of our wardrobe. We work in a fabulous industry and it would be great to see more us being proactive and putting some of our unused clothes to good use; whether corporate attire or donations suitable for their sales - such items could be invaluable to Wear for Success in helping them deliver additional services that assist people back into the workforce.”

Lisa Roberts said her team is extremely proud to be partnering with such a worthy, not-for-profit that aligns so closely with their own values.

She continued: “Our business has always focused on finding solutions, helping others, collaboration and using our connections to the benefit of our clients. For some time now, we have been searching for a way to apply these strengths and to extend these values and philosophies into the wider community and are proud to announce our support of Wear for Success.

“The care and attention we provide our clients and the emphasis we place on relationships is so much more than the typical venue-finding model. This is reflected in our choice to partner with Wear for Success via the delivery of engaging industry events and fundraising activities,” said Ms Roberts.

Jodie Aickin, Operations Manager of Wear for Success is the sole employee of this inspirational organisation - they have been operating for 5 years without any government funding, relying on a dedicated team of volunteers. Ms Aickin said:

We would like to sincerely thank TheVenueShop for making this happen, their donations plus holding invaluable fundraisers on our behalf, and we’re looking forward to working closely with them in the future.”

TheVenueShop helps unemployed put best foot forward - via #ProjectSuccess fundraiser announced in support of Wear for Success at Crown Towers Melbourne A huge thanks to event industry professionals, from diverse HR, Learning and Development, EA and Event Manager positions, representing significant corporates such as ANZ, IAG, NAB, Visy and Salmat, who attended the fundraising event to support the cause, whilst of course at the same time networking with each other and learning how they can be more efficient in their current roles via TheVenueShop’s extensive services and expertise.
