Pullman Melbourne on the Park is located a short distance from the Melbourne CBD, opposite the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens and overlooking the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and Melbourne Park. Facilities on site include: outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool spa, steam room, sauna and 24 hour fitness centre. Dining options include the Park Lounge Bar for drinks or a light snack, as well as the Gallery Restaurant overlooking the Fitzroy Gardens, offering international cuisine and a selection of fine wines. 

The 419 elegantly appointed rooms and suites all have flat screen TVs, comfortable new bedding, high speed internet access, a work desk and large windows. There is 24 hour reception and room service offered, plus a choice of self and valet undercover parking on site.

In May 2008 the makeover to the Conference and Events Floor on Level 1 was unveiled. The Events Floor features a large open foyer with abundant natural light plus a variety of adaptable rooms including two new boardrooms and a business centre, complimenting the Grand Ballroom for up to 1,000 guests, and Governor's Wing with six contemporary styled rooms - including four with large windows providing natural light and picturesque views over either the Fitzroy Gardens and city skyline, or iconic MCG.

Secure undercover parking is available for in-house guests (charges apply), with limited parking for day delegates charged per entry per day. Space cannot be guaranteed as there are 100 spaces below the hotel. Jolimont Train Station is across the road and there is a tram stop on Wellington Parade. Taxis are readily available and Collins Street is only a 5 minute walk through the Fitzroy Gardens.

REVIEW: The food & the staff really stood out! Most important to me as the conference organiser...

"All delegates really enjoyed the food and there were a large variety of choices. The staff were very helpful and really efficient. I think this is what really stood out for me - as it’s probably the most important part as conference organiser. You need the staff at the venue to be able to answer and solve any issues. They were also always available to discuss any point of the running order etc...

The space was great too and it was very convenient to have everything at the same place. The only negative points I have (brought up by delegates) were unfortunately that the air-conditioning was too intense. It was very cold in Ballroom 1&2 which was mentioned many times to the venue. At some stage after being adjusted, the temperature  went up and then it was too warm. Felt like it was impossible to get just the right temperature. Also, we had our posters displayed in Ballroom 3 and found there was not enough lighting. It was difficult to read the posters as our font on these is usually quite small. It would have been great to know this before we went ahead with using this particular room for posters.

Overall, I think this is an excellent venue. We did a survey and the venue was very good or excellent for 90% of the survey respondents. I would definitely recommend it internally. The only thing that can potentially be a problem for our events in the future is the DDR?  Big thanks to Fiona and Lisa from Ultimate/TheVenueShop who were able to negotiate a great package for us to meet our budget! But if we had to pay much more than this next time, it could be an issue as our budget is always a concern."
